Rocker Ozzy Osbourne will miss this year Ozzfest concert, from 7 August and postponed his tours because of his throat problems. Ozzfest, set for Sunday at Float Rite Park in Somerset, Wis., has been postponed until Sept. 10, promoters announced Thursday evening.
Ozzy was advised by his doctors to manage his voice, because of throat problems, and his band Black Sabbath has now postponed four shows, each the day after a performance. According to media reports, Ozzy suffers of acid reflux, respiratory problems and vocal problems.
"Doctors have advised Ozzy not to perform multiple nights in a row for fear that he might permanently damage his voice," read a statement posted at the venue's website.
"You gotta do Ozzfest with Ozzy," Minneapolis promoter Randy Levy told the Star Tribune newspaper. "We're going to lose some of the bands [for the rescheduled date] and add some others. We'll know in the next 10 days."
Osbourne has already missed some concerts, including a July 27 date in Indianapolis, Sunday in Holmdel, N.J., and Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio.
