Rapper Shawty Lo won’t be getting his 15 minutes of reality TV fame after all

Shawty Lo will have to rely solely on his skills as a rapper to make an honest buck after all. Following intense online protests about the planned reality show “All My Babies’ Mamas” focusing on the rapper, Oxygen has decided to pull the plug on the project.

The pilot for the new series, which would have seen Shawty struggle to reconcile all his 10 baby mamas, with whom he has 11 children, under the same roof, emerged online in December.

It came with confirmation from the network that a full season would premiere in early 2013, which was more than enough for thousands of concerned Americans / parents to rally against it.

Over 37,000 people signed a Change.org petition against the show, which effectively sealed its fate: common sense has trumped the desperate bid for ratings. For once.

“As part of our development process, we have reviewed casting and decided not to move forward with the special,” a network representative says in a statement cited by Fox News.
