Own Gwen in a Bottle

I've said this before and I'll say it again: it has become a genuine tradition for celebrities, once they reach a certain level of fame and success, to launch some item that bears their name. Be it a fragrance, allegedly created with their own two little hands and sensitive nose, be it a clothing line, the stars of today are doing all their best to bring another couple of millions dollars to their already fat bank account.

By the looks of things, the recipe is working like a charm. If you like, for example, Jennifer Lopez, then you can go to a store near you and just buy her fragrance and you're already a step closer to your idol. Or, at least, that's what you're supposed to believe...

Anyway, the former No Doubt rocker chick, Gwen Stefani has done both the things I was telling you about at the beginning. Now, besides her own clothing line with L.A.M.B., she is in talks with the biggest cosmetics company in the world (yes, it's Coty, of course) to start working on a perfume.

But how does Gwen describe the way her fragrance is going to smell: she says it will be just like her, only in a bottle. 'Creating a fragrance is one of the most prestigious things a designer can do. For me it's like another thing you can wear and another thing I can creatively be a part of. I'm creating it for myself. It's like me shrunken into a box.', Gwen explained during a press conference.

But the singer also admits that making a perfume is not just for meeting her artistic needs - money count, as also does the importance of being remembered for something else other than her music. 'The fragrance makes it feel real, like it'll be here for a little while. The whole L.A.M.B. thing is pretty greedy. I'm making it all for me. The goal with this fragrance is that I'll wear it and have endless bottles of it.', Gwen added.

The yet unnamed bottle of Gwenny will come out sometime in the fall of 2007.
