Ovi Maps for mobile v3.06 has just got more features via the latest update Nokia Beta Labs pushed out for it today, including Foursquare & Qype check in, as well as the possibility to add a public place.

The Ovi Maps for mobile application is available for a wide range of Nokia smartphones, including the latest handsets running under the Symbian^3 OS, such as Nokia N8, C7, or E7.

With this application, users can easily see their location on the map, explore various places around them or on other areas of the world, and even share those places.

Moreover, the application offers free Drive or Walk in 78 countries around the world, and now the possibility to check in to a place and then share it with friends on favorite social networking destinations.

Of course, since this is only a beta version of the application, there still are a series of issues that would appear after the installation, all of which were described on the Nokia Beta Labs website.

A complete clangelog for the latest version of the mobile application is available there as well.

When it comes to the newly added features in Ovi Maps v3.06, here's what the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs note:

Support for Foursquare and Qype! – check in to Foursquare as you check in with us and share where you’re at and what you’re up to on your favourite social networks. Our list keeps growing! You may need to match the place on Ovi for us to the corresponding one on Foursquare or Qype, but we’ll remember that link. Next time you check into the same place you won’t have to do that anymore.

Adding a public place - you’re one Check in away from becoming mayor at your favorite coffee place but Ovi doesn’t know it yet? Add it with a few simple steps and you’re ready to Check in. Once it’s been reviewed everyone else will be able to find it in Maps, too.
