Users of a Nokia mobile phone can download and enjoy a new software solution on their devices, coming straight from Nokia Beta Labs, namely Ovi Maps Beta for mobile 3.04. According to the developing team, the new iteration of the application has been released into the wild mainly with a wide range of performance improvements when compared to the previously available 3.03 version, while also delivering easier and faster navigation features to users.
Among the enhancements the new Ovi Maps 3.04 beta comes around with, we can also count improved positioning speed and accuracy, map zooming with faster speed, and improved search for cities with zoom out to city level. Other features are also available with the solution, including sharing of location with friends on Facebook straight from the Ovi Maps, enabling users to easily publish status updates, photos and locations, all of which appear on the Facebook page.

As most of you might already know, users can enjoy the features of Ovi Maps on their home computers too, via Ovi Maps for web, a solution compatible with all browsers. However, the developing team recommends the use of Internet Explorer 7 and 8 or Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 on Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7-based computers, or the use of Safari 3 and 4 (32 bit) on Mac OSX 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 machines.

When on N97mini make sure that you have the proper firrmware. Run update first. Ovi Maps 3.0.3 and later will not run on firmware v.10. Not all N97minis will allow a firmware upgrade so you will NOT be able to use Ovi Maps 3.0.4 and have to be a bit patient.
