And they're dirt cheap, too

Game publisher and developer City Interactive has created a new brand called Premiere Silver and it?s going to bring us pure gold with it - next-gen games priced at only ?4.99! And if you're expecting some poor casual titles to keep you occupied for a few hours, you are wrong: City Interactive will bring you full hardcore games which, at least in theory, should be able to compete against high budget, high cost titles.

One of the games that is being released as we speak is Overspeed, an illegal racing game (ironically described by the developers as "suitable for ages 3+") that looks completely awesome - of course the gameplay matters a lot, but we haven't gotten the chance to test it.

The game will put players in the seat of one of the ten cars available, challenging them to seek out random street races. Faithfully recreated famous locations of illegal races in Los Angeles come to life with diversified roadways, corners, and intersections that made the dynamic street races a possibility - and the search for shortcuts a must! Players have to slowly mold their vehicle into a finely tuned racing machine, capable of taking on the streets, but it won?t be easy since there are many other racers who have the same plans.

Players will win cars or car parts following their races and they will be able to disassemble, repair, and upgrade their vehicles part by part - with City Interactive promising that every possible piece that is found on an actual vehicle will be present in Overspeed, and also removable, damageable, and upgradeable.

And if we take the game's price into consideration, we can understand with ease that we might have a bargain in front of us. At the moment, Overspeed is only available in the UK but we suppose that if it indeed proves to be a success, it will quickly be shipped to other territories.
