That's 60W over each of the channels, just to make sure no one misunderstands

Fans don't usually need much power to run properly, even at full speed, but Lamptron decided to provide them with as much as one light bulb's worth of energy anyway.

So, if you have a high-end computer with a whole bunch of case fans, you might be in the market for a fan controller.

It helps to have control over when the things run at full speed after all. Leaving them on full blast all the time can be unnecessarily noisy, and power-draining too.

Not that Lamptron is advocating energy efficiency. Not really. After all, it allows each of the five channels in the CF525 to deliver 60W of power.

For a fan controller that fits inside a 5.25-inch desktop case bay, that's a lot.

Lamptron also spent some time making the fan controller look good and rugged. The aluminum front plate isn't that astonishing, but Lamptron did take the liberty of coating both the circuit board and sleeved cables in black, despite the fact that you're never likely to actually see the inside of the thing.

Even in enclosures with side windows, although those desk-shaped cases from Lian Li do provide some interesting possibilities.

Anyway, the Lamptron CF525 fan controller sells for $99.95 (Amazon) / €69.90 (Drako.it).
