Burnout 5 is the latest installment in the famous Burnout series from Criterion Games, and it was announced on August 29 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Apparently, this game will have an open word setting much like Test Drive Unlimited.

Some new information about Burnout 5 has been revealed via
a Newsweek report. Criterion's Director of Design Alex Ward spilled the beans on the game's graphics and also revealed some details about the crashes in the game. He addressed this issue because, in his opinion, you will crash over 5,000 times in the game.

As it is revealed in the Newsweek report, Criterion plans to make the crashing experience as real as possible. According to Alex Ward, the first crash that players will get to see on the PlayStation 3 has to go beyond everything they have ever seen before. It has to be something that's never been done before.

Apparently, Burnout 5 will not resemble all the other Burnout games released so far, as Criterion plans to go back to square one. Alex Ward wants to make this PS3 game a big hit, as he admits being a fanatical PlayStation fan. In his opinion, there is a lot of negativity everywhere regarding the PlayStation. He blames this negativity on the lack of PS3s, and people are simply bothered because they didn't get one. He might have a point here...
