WhatsApp, one of the most popular cross-platform messaging services out there, is enjoying increased usage, with over one billion messages being sent on their network each and every day.

WhatsApp is available at the moment on a wide range of mobile platforms out there, and users of devices running under iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and Symbian can now benefit from its capabilities.

The company is proud to announce the new milestone, and they also seem very happy that the service is enjoying such increased usage, at least this is what they note in a statement that emerged over at BGR.

The mobile messaging market is moving, choices around platforms and their pricing and how they provide an amazing customer experience are the hot topics at hand.

As a leader in the messaging space and with our network now handling over one billion messages a day, we see that the power is with the consumer.
