E3 2012 closed its doors last week and now the organizer of the large expo, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), has confirmed that 45,700 people attended the convention this year.

The E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is one of the biggest gaming-related trade fairs in the world and the newest edition, which took place in Los Angeles last week, has been a big success.

According to the ESA, “45,700 video game industry professionals, investor analysts, journalists, and retailers from 103 countries” attended the convention, with over 200 exhibitors showing their upcoming titles.

We certainly admired quite a few big announcements last week, from Nintendo’s Wii U, to Microsoft’s SmartGlass technology or Sony’s big PS3-exclusive titles.

While it’s expected that E3 2013 will once again be held in Los Angeles, the ESA has confirmed that it will make a concrete announcement about next year’s convention in the coming weeks.
