The move is in response to a campaign against feminists

Twitter has suspended at least 30 accounts related to the Anonymous movement. The move appears to be in response to a campaign of misogynist abuse against feminist campaigners.

One of the suspended accounts is @Anon_Central, which has posted numerous anti-Semitic and racist messages over the past period. Its last tweet was aimed at freelance journalist Caroline Criado-Perez.

In fact, Criado-Perez, Labour MP Stella Creasy, Hannah Curtis and Times columnist Caitlin Moran are considered responsible for the shutdown of the Anonymous accounts.

“Perez and Creasy appear to have some direct line to Twitter to get accounts suspended sooner,” some Anons stated.

However, Criado-Perez denies having anything to do with the suspension of Anonymous accounts.

“I certainly don't have the power to ban accounts, but I do report accounts that send threats and harass me. Sometimes they get suspended and sometimes they don't,” she has told The Guardian.
