Last week, Camera360, one of the most popular camera applications for smartphones, announced that it had surpassed the 100 million users mark, thus becoming the first third-party camera software in the world to have reached the milestone.

Furthermore, data coming from Tencent Mobile Internet Design Center unveiled that Camera360 enjoyed the largest market share of any third-party photography app at the end of 2012, despite the fact that competition in the area is fierce.

The developers of the app also announced that they planned on turning Camera360 into a multi-service provider, which should enable them to meet the growing consumer demands.

Camera360 also offers a Cloud service, with over 240 million photos already uploaded to it, thus being able to provide mobile users with a one-stop solution for their photo and imaging needs.

The app’s developers also note that, in users’ view, one of the most appealing features that Camera360 has to offer is its Effects mode, and that its Effects SDK has already been opened to both indie developers and other companies.

“With the Camera360 Effects SDK in hand, vendors can now save on development costs and get closer to a final release of their products. Many domestic giants of social communication apps, such as Tencent, Weibo, Renren and Kaixin, have all used the Camera360 SDK,” the app’s devs explain.

“Camera360 is now even in talks with a number of smart phone manufacturers to integrate the Camera360 SDK into the stock camera, in order to make their handsets stand out from the crowd. With this open spirit of sharing, Camera360 is getting even more in return.”

Moving forth, Camera360 is set to provide an optimized user experience so that more users adopt it. The developers behind the app also announced that they were set to continue pushing the boundaries of their software, and that they would also focus on enhancing their business model.
