The hacker known as Game Over has breached Newsea Sims (newseasims.com), a website that provides custom content for The Sims, the highly popular life simulation video game series published by Electronic Arts.

As a result of the breach, the email addresses, usernames and clear text passwords of over 100,000 users from all over the world have been leaked online.

Cyber War News has analyzed the data leak and has found the details of 108,377 unique accounts.

The site is currently offline. It’s likely that its administrators have decided to take it down after seeing that their entire customer database ended up online.

Despite the fact that the website’s main page contains an alert instructing users not to utilize the same password for other websites, they’ve clearly neglected some important security measures, such as properly encrypting user passphrases.

If you have an account on Newsea Sims, chances are that cybercriminals will try to abuse your credentials, so make sure that you change your passwords as soon as possible, especially if you’ve set the same one for more than one account.

The email addresses are also a valuable asset for cybercriminals since they can use them for custom spam campaigns that specifically target Sims players.
