The device will continue to use an open philosophy

Julie Uhrman, one of the founders and the chief executive officer of the company creating the Ouya, admits that her team has made mistakes during the launch process, but says that this will not dampen their innovative streak.

Polygon quotes the executive as saying that, “We’re young, we’re scrappy, we’re moving fast. We’re building this product in the open with you. We got our start with you. We get better every day because we listen to you.”

Ouya was affected by problems linked to manufacturing and shipping, which means that many of those who backed the hardware on Kickstarter had to wait in order to get access to it.

The controller included in the Android-powered home console has also been criticized for being hard to use and inaccurate.

Despite its issues, Ouya sold out on launch and demand is still high for the device because it promotes a culture of free games and user-created applications.
