The team working on the open Ouya console says that more than 10,000 developers are currently working on titles for the new hardware and that official announcements will be made in the coming weeks.

Kelle Santiago, who is currently the head of developer relations, tells Joystiq that the number of teams is bigger than initially thought and that many of the games that are under development will be soon revealed.

We already know that developers like Double Fine, Minority Media, Polytron and Airtight Games are using the Ouya for future projects.

The new device is set to be open to all those who are interested in creating new software and will be based on a version of the Android operating system, which also means that ports are possible.

Ouya consoles are currently shipped to developers and other early adopters.
