Ouya co-founder and VP of product development Muffi Ghadiali is leaving ship, after being an instrumental asset in launching the company and bringing the Ouya to the consumer market.

Ghadiali also worked at Amazon, as product manager for the Kindle, before being involved with the Android-based console. He was a big part of the development efforts for the Ouya, leading the teams responsible for both the console's hardware and software.

“Ouya is focusing more on the next phase of the business and product development. We've made some recent changes including the departure of Muffi Ghadiali who was invaluable during the launch of Ouya.

"As is to be expected, Ouya is an ever-changing business, and as we continue to grow our needs shift accordingly,” the company said in a statement made on TechCrunch.

Ouya has not been doing great in the monetization department, with 77 percent of owners not buying any games yet, and only taking advantage of the free titles, but so far Ouya officials have stated that the sales are better than initially expected, and that numbers are expected to grow as more gamers pick up the console and more developers are attracted.
