Microsoft’s newly-released Outlook.com email service suffered an outage yesterday that restricted access to users living in specific countries, making sending and receiving messages impossible.

While Microsoft’s service status page did not indicate any downtime, the company acknowledged the issue and started working on a fix to restore access to all accounts worldwide.

All services are running normally at this point and the affected users confirm that Microsoft has resolved the issue in just a few hours after it was first reported.

The Redmond-based technology giant recently rolled out the full version of Outlook.com, pushing the email platform out of beta and making it available to all users worldwide. At the same time, Microsoft continues its anti-Gmail campaign, trying to convince consumers to abandon Google’s email service and switch to Outlook.com.
