Microsoft closed Hotmail and moved all users to Outlook.com earlier this year, but the company still struggles to make its flagship email platform work flawlessly.

Lots of consumers are now reporting problems with the search option, claiming that the built-in Outlook.com email search doesn’t work at all and returns an error that doesn’t provide too many details.

“There was a problem with the Outlook service (a temporary network connectivity issue that has nothing to do with your computer). Please try again. If you keep seeing this message, go to Service status to check if there's a problem with Outlook,” the displayed message reads.

The error first occurred in August, but several users keep getting the message these days as well, so Microsoft is probably yet to fix the problems. The company did mention that it’s looking into the matter, so until more details are provided, you have no other option than to wait.
