Most people out there who've purchased an eBook reader typically use these things while being on the go, and for this reason, they also require some protective solutions specifically designed to keep them safe at all times, such as the ones included in the new Commuter Series by OtterBox.

Over time, OtterBox has really managed to make a very good name for itself on the protective cases' market, manufacturing such accessories for most smartphones out there, regardless of the manufacturer, plus some of the world's best-known Internet tablets as well.

And now, the company's back with a whole series of protective cases designed for some of the world's best-known eBook readers, namely the Amazon Kindle 3, Amazon Kindle DX, Barnes & Noble NOOK and Sony Reader Touch Edition.

The OtterBox Commuter Series cases feature three layers, the first of which consists of a self-adhering screen protector that prevents any scratches or blemishes from ruining the view, while the second is a soft silicone wrap that provides a better grip while also absorbing shock from accidental dings or drops.

Moreover, the Cases for Kindle 3 and Kindle DX include a fully interactive keyboard cover to protect the keys as well, while silicone plugs protect the ports for all devices in order to keep out dust or dirt.

Last, but certainly not least, a polycarbonate shell fits around the silicone, making it easy to maneuver in and out of a briefcase or backpack.

"These eReaders are an emerging technology that OtterBox could not ignore," said Curt Richardson, founder and CEO of OtterBox, who also added that "Commuter Series cases are a great way to add protection and style without sacrificing the simplicity and on-the-go nature of these devices."

Of course, pricing for each of these protection solutions depends largely on the specific model and the device they're designed to work with, but don't expect them to go too high, as most of the models sell for 49,95 US Dollars, apart from the one targeting the Kindle DX, that sells for 65 US dollars.
