The nominations for the Oscars 2015 were announced earlier this week, and despite weeks of very aggressive campaigning, Jennifer Aniston didn’t get one for Best Actress for her role in “Cake.” She’s mildly disappointed, but she’s not crying herself to bed every night, or so she says in a new interview.

Access Hollywood caught up with the actress on the red carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2015 the other night and she spoke candidly about her Oscar snub and how she wasn’t really upset because the film had already been acknowledge by the critics with nominations at other awards.

Granted, the Oscar nom would have meant a great deal, but in the end, she says, they went to actresses who deserved them just as much, like the amazing Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore, both of whom contacted her after the Academy announcement.

At the end of the day, you can choose to be upset over one thing or learn to see the silver lining / full half of the glass. Considering that “Cake” is such a small-budget film that hasn’t even had a wide release, but is already getting praise from the critics, Aniston would say there’s nothing to be upset about that she missed out on an Oscar nomination.

“This is just all cherries on top of something that was really special to us. So we're really excited,” she concludes by saying.
