Please welcome the wickedly talented Adele Danzeem!

John Travolta had just one job to do at the Oscars 2014 last night, airing live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, and that was that of introducing Idina Menzel to the stage, to perform “Let It Go” from the Disney animated pic “Frozen.” He failed miserably at it.

Embedded below is an Instagram video of how Travolta butchered Idina Menzel’s name, which came out sounding like Adele Danzeem. Or Adela Dazeem. Or Adele Dazim. Those last two already have Twitter accounts and more followers than us, regular folks.

Travolta did justice to the text the organizers had prepared for him, up to the point where Idina’s name came up. He made a mess of it and he didn’t even attempt to sort things out, just opting to do what many of us do in real-life when we get something wrong: mumble under our breaths, head lowered – you know, in the off chance that whoever is listening won’t be able to tell what we have just said.

Unfortunately for John, the entire Internet was paying attention, so his faux-pas soon became one of the most talked about moments in the Oscarcast.

Fake Twitter accounts of the “wickedly talented” woman no one knows because she doesn’t exist popped up, two of which are still active – and quite funny, too. Celebrities who were not in attendance also weighed in, saying more or less seriously that this was as much Travolta’s fault as it was organizers’.
