14 DAY TRIAL // The Oscars 2014 awards gala was relatively surprise-free this year but that’s not to say it was without its good moments. One of them, and perhaps the most fun as well, was when John Travolta Travoltified Idina Menzel’s name by basically butchering it.
It happened when he was up on stage to introduce Idina as live performer and, even though he’s already issued a statement to urge us to “let it go,” it’s still one of the hottest topics online.
It’s so hot that not even Jimmy Fallon could resist roasting the actor for his flub on The Tonight Show, as you will see in the video above. Sorry, make that Jellen Fehaiyaha.
Idina Menzel (or, as Travolta would call her, Adela Danzeem) wasn’t the only celebrity who had reasons to be upset for what happened at the Oscars, Fallon continues. Leonardo DiCaprio is quite mad at Jennifer Lawrence because she butchered his name when she presented the Best Actor award, and called him Matthew McConaughey instead.
The Travolta name flub and the DiCaprio Oscar snub (his fourth so far) are two of the most memorable moments at this year’s Oscarcast. Others include the Ellen multi-selfie and Ellen ordering pizza to hand out to celebrities in the front rows.
John Travolta is wrong if he thinks the world will just let his faux-pas slip so easily. This is something for the history books.
