14 DAY TRIAL // Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet at the Oscars 2014 on Sunday, outside the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, and made such an impression that they were immediately dubbed the most stunning couple in attendance.
They were also looking particularly stylish, with Angelina dazzling in a sparkly Elie Saab gown with statement diamonds by Robert Procop, and Brad looking very elegant in a Tom Ford tux and his own jewelry pieces.
Life & Style magazine says that he opted not to wear loaners because, for his big night, he wanted something he held very dearly, like jewelry Angelina had gifted him on previous occasions. Call it his good luck charm.
And it worked too, because Brad got to see “12 Years a Slave,” which he produced and starred in, win Best Picture, together with a bunch of other, smaller awards.
The mag says that Brad’s buttons and cufflinks were from Angelina’s Style of Jolie line, which she created in partnership with Robert Procop, her go-to jeweler for all red carpets.
“It turns out Angie specifically made them for Brad – and even gifted them to him during the holidays,” the celebrity publication reports. Procop himself has confirmed this in a statement, saying Angelina gave them to Brad one year for Christmas.
“The sentimental gift consisted of tablet-cut diamonds set into yellow gold,” the report adds.
Procop also helped Brad design the 16-carat diamond ring he proposed to her in 2013, so the relationship with the famous jeweler is truly a very special one. Of course, Angelina wore the sparkler on her left hand at the Oscars, but she also had on oversized, absolutely gorgeous diamonds earrings.
This was Angelina’s Oscars return from the 2012 ceremony, which sparked the meme Angelina Jolie’s Right Leg. Back then, she wore a black Atelier Versace gown with a thigh-slit that she used to show off her leg whenever she posed for pictures, and even when she went up on stage to present.
Though she hardly ever seems to do anything wrong, The Leg became infamous and was deemed Angelina’s first truly bad PR move in an entire career.
Considering that said career also included kissing her brother on the lips on the red carpet and wearing vials of her ex-husband’s blood around her neck, this just goes to show just how badly The Leg backfired and how much it was ridiculed online.
