The Oscars are usually considered a very glitzy but dull awards show, but this year promises to be different. Dame Shirley Bassey has been confirmed as one of the performers of the night, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Considering that Bassey is the voice behind the theme songs for the James Bond movies “Goldfinger,” “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Moonraker” and that the Oscars 2013 will include a special anniversary Bond tribute, it’s not hard to put two and two together.

She might be part of the 007 tribute, that is.

If we also factor in Adele, who is also confirmed to perform, we might actually have solid cause to hope for a duet. How incredibly amazing would that be?

“We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey to our Oscar show. Her association with film music is world-renowned and we are proud that she will be making her first Oscar appearance on our telecast,” producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron say.

The Oscars will take place on February 24. Keep an eye on this space for updates.
