For the first time in its long history, the Oscars 2013 ceremony had a theme and, since it was musicals, it ended with a singing dedication to all the nominees who weren’t among the lucky few to take a golden statuette home.

Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams and Steven Spielberg got special shoutouts.

Check out in the video below.

Host Seth MacFarlane was joined by Kristen Chenoweth on stage for this particular number, and paid funny tribute to the nominees, explaining to them in song why they shouldn’t be sorry they didn’t win.

In fact, come to think of it, with the Oscars, the issue isn’t so much a question of “losing” but rather of “not winning.”

All in all, it was the perfect way to wrap up a musically heavy night.

Enjoy!
