First Lady’s Oscars dress is deemed too much for movie fans in Iran

Michelle Obama “crashed” the Oscars 2013 ceremony: she was the surprise presenter for the Best Picture category, making the announcement live from the White House. Her gorgeous dress was deemed too revealing by one Iranian news agency.

The Daily Mail reports that FARS, which is a state-owned Iranian news agency, digitally altered the First Lady’s dress to cover up her cleavage and her upper arms.

The second photo included in the gallery below, though grainy, will offer an indication of how FARS “dressed up” Mrs. Obama for movie fans back in Iran.

“It was Photoshopped in order that the garment would be in keeping with the country's Islamic dress codes that require women not to expose too much skin,” the Mail explains.

Ben Affleck’s “Argo” won Best Picture, in case you missed the announcement – and Ben became extremely emotional during his acceptance speech, choking up a couple of times.
