Here’s another reason to look forward to the Academy Awards 2013: Barbra Streisand has been confirmed as one of the live performers of the night, in what will be her first time on stage as such in 36 years.

Confirmation of this has already come from the Oscarcast producers, MSNBC reports.

Further details about Streisand’s performance have not been made available, but chances are she will be included either in a special movie musical tribute or in the tribute for songwriter Marvin Hamslich, who passed away in 2012.

“In an evening that celebrates the artistry of movies and music, how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand? We are honored that she has agreed to do a very special performance on this year's Oscars, her first time singing on the show in 36 years,” producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron say in a statement.

Another performer I’m personally hyped to see back on stage singing is Adele, who will be doing a live rendition of her Oscar-nominated “Skyfall.”

The Oscars will take place on February 24.
