One of the most talked about dresses at the Oscars 2013 – and not in a good way – was Anne Hathaway’s pale pink Prada gown, which resembled an apron from the back and showed a definite contour of her breasts from the front.

As it turns out, Anne should’ve worn Valentino and now she’s sorry she didn’t. Officially.

“It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans,” she says in a statement to People.

E! News says that the Valentino she was supposed to wear was very similar to the Alexander McQueen on Amanda Seyfried – incidentally, her co-star in the Oscar-nominated “Les Miserables.”

“I deeply regret any disappointment caused,” Anne says, apologizing to Valentino who, fans must know, also designed her wedding dress and even said in a statement afterwards that she was “like a daughter” to him.
