If you pair Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell to present the award for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2012, you must know you are in for something a bit out of the ordinary – and this is precisely what happened last night.

The twosome walked up on stage through the audience, as they bashed golden cymbals to the rhythm of their grand entrance song, looking mighty dandy in white on white tuxedos.

For good measure, before going up on stage, they stopped in front of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to offer them a bit more of their “music.”

As they introduced themselves to the audience, a very strange yet somewhat expected thing was revealed: as it turns out, Zack Galifianakis too has trouble with his last name, just like everybody else.

In the end, Bret McKenzie won for “The Muppets,” but not before the terrible duo made even more noise with their cymbals, including dropping them on the floor a couple of times – completely by (scripted) accident.

Below is the video.
