Because it's very easy to forget the kind of impact a major event like the Oscars has on the environment, actress Missi Pyle took it on herself to remind us. And she did it in great style!

The star, who was seen in “The Artist,” officially the big winner of the night at this year's Academy Awards, looked stunning in a sea-foam green gown made with recycled materials and cruelty-free silk.

Not only did she look stunning, but she also used such a huge occasion to remind us all that going green doesn't necessarily mean going down in the style stakes.

“The Artist actress Missi Pyle strutted down the Oscar red carpet in a cruelty-free, mineral-dyed 'peace'-silk gown by Valentino Delfino, the winner of Suzy Amis Cameron’s 'Red Carpet Green Fashion' design competition,” Ecouterre informs.

“Pleated by hand under the guidance of award-winning designer Birgit Muller, the dress also features repurposed zippers and a lining derived from recycled polyester,” says the same e-zine.

The actress accessorized her superb gown with Christian Louboutin heels and jewelry by Stella McCartney.
