14 DAY TRIAL // George Clooney didn't win any awards last night at the Oscars 2012 but he didn't exactly leave home empty-handed: he escorted his gorgeous date home, who had been styled to look almost like one of the gold statuettes.
That is, if one is to believe what people are saying in the blogosphere.
George and his latest girlfriend, former wrestler Stacy Keibler, whom he started dating shortly after breaking up with Elisabetta Canalis, walked the red carpet in style last night.
Aware that all eyes were on them, and perhaps that he was favorite to win too, they played nice with the media and Stacy made sure she let George have all the spotlight, merely cutting in to answer a courtesy question or smile and nod.

We could be reading too much into this, but there's a vague feeling that, while George is having the time of his life with this, Stacy is rather guarded, as if she's afraid she might do or say something to step out of her “trophy” girlfriend role.
Either way, back to the topic of fashion: George looked his usual dashing self in a classic Giorgio Armani tuxedo, of which he made a point to say he didn't really pay too much attention to these things.
Stacy, on the other hand, was dressed up and styled to the nines, as such an occasion calls for.
She wore a golden Marchesa dress with one giant swirl on her hip, matched with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Judith Leiber clutch.
Her hair was swept to the side, and she also wore '80s inspired chunky earrings.
Because of the gown and the way she carried herself on the red carpet, Stacy paved the way for countless jokes in the blogosphere about how George had brought his own Oscar statuette from home, just in case he didn't win.
All jokes aside though, they did make a nice couple.
