One would imagine it's hard for Angelina Jolie to do anything and be ridiculed for it, but this is precisely what happened at last night's Academy Awards 2012. Read on for more details.
Always a very composed and gracious presence on the red carpet, this year, at the industry's biggest awards show, Angelina was forced to pull some very unnatural poses just so she could make her dress stand out.
In return, the Internet has created memes especially for her right leg, which also has its own Twitter account now.
Let's take this from the start.
For the red carpet ceremony, Angelina appeared to be her usual self in terms of elegance, class and, just as important, choice for an appropriate gown.
She matched her black Atelier Versace (she's always been very comfortable in dark tones) with understated Neil Lane jewelry, peeptoes from Salvatore Ferragamo and a Jaime Mascaro clutch.
For the big night, the star wore her hair naturally, and opted for dramatic red lipstick and minimal makeup.
In other words, she had all the right ingredients to make yet another splashing red carpet appearance – if not for the awkward posing.
To illustrate, we should note that, instead of adopting one of the usual poses, Angelina stuck her right leg out (the dress had a thigh slit), bent and twisted her body a bit to allow all the weight to fall on that leg and, at the same time, put an arm on her waist.
It was, to say the least, a very unnatural pose and it seemed as if Angelina was making quite an effort to draw attention to the slit.
As noted above, the pose has already become an Internet meme.
