14 DAY TRIAL // After an underwhelming Oscars night and following days of intense rehearsals for the big event, hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco have come to hate each other and are no longer on speaking terms, a new report suggests.
The 2011 edition of the Academy Awards, which took place on Sunday, marked the first time two full-time actors were employed as hosts and this was painfully obvious in how little entertaining they were throughout the night.
In fact, as we also informed you at the time, Anne and Franco were dubbed by critics and viewers the worst hosts ever in Oscars history, while the latest edition was undoubtedly the most boring of all times.
As if that wasn’t enough, Anne and Franco now hate each other, even though they started off as good friends, Us Magazine writes.
Apparently, throughout rehearsals, Anne realized that, no matter how hard she tried, James’ heart was simply not into it, which is the same thing that happened during the Oscarcast.
“No winners here! A source tells Us Weekly that Anne Hathaway, 28, and James Franco grew to ‘hate each other’ as they rehearsed to host the Oscars Feb. 27,” the celebrity mag writes.
“‘She had to provide all the energy – he was just phoning it in,’ says a second insider. (‘James seemed in his own little world,’ during the Oscar telecast, says another source. ‘Producers were [fuming].’)” the same report mentions.
Franco too realized what a poor job he’d done at the Oscars so, right after the awards ceremony, he was out of Los Angeles, even missing out on his own party.
“Franco, 32, skipped his own party at LA’s The Writer’s Room. ‘He went immediately back to NYC because he was [upset] about how the show went,’ adds a third source,” Us writes.
Anne, in return, went to all the parties and even did Oprah the next day, where she had only nice things to say about James, saying the two of them had a lot of fun at the Oscars.
A rep for Franco says the rumors he hates Anne are not accurate. Oddly enough, the actor has not been seen since Oscars night.
