Oscar Pistorius has been formally indicted in the murder case of girlfriend of a few months, Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius is still advocating his innocence and saying that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he shot her several times on Valentine's Day.

He wept and held hands with family as he was being indicted, Fox News reported. The prosecution formally indicted Pistorius and set a trial date for next March.

There was also a witness list submitted to the court, and it includes 100 people that will take the stand for the prosecution.

As I mentioned, the athlete will be standing trial in South Africa. He has been allowed to leave the country for competitions in March hearing. The country does not hold jury trials, so the decision is down to the judge.
