About a month ago, a jogger in California, US, chanced to come across an orphaned sea otter while running along a local beach. At the time the jogger found it, the sea otter was in fairly poor health condition.

Thus, it was underweight and terribly confused. Hoping to save it, the jogger contacted wildlife experts and the baby otter was soon taken to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Here, it was put in intensive care.

Thanks to lots of food and some much-needed TLC, the baby otter, believed to be about 5 weeks old, is now feeling much better. It's grown more confident and it's way plumper than it was when the jogger rescued it.

As detailed by Daily Mail, the young otter very much likes to swim and explore its enclosure. What's more, it does not seem to mind having people around. On the contrary, the pup appears to enjoy its caretakers' company.

It is understood that, soon enough, the otter will be transferred to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, where it will remain for the rest of its life. Here, it will share an enclosure with other marine dwellers of its kind.

Although folks at the Monterey Bay Aquarium usually release the animals they save back into the wild, this otter pup is way too accustomed to being around people to be freed. More so seeing how it doesn't have the skills needed to survive on its own in the wild.
