About a week ago, I introduced you to Kali, an orphaned polar bear whose mom had been shot dead by hunters. At that time, the cub was in search of a new home, seeing how the staff at the Alaska Zoo in Anchorage admitted to being unable to look after him on the longer run.

Recent news on the topic says that Kali will soon move to New York. More precisely, he will be sent to the Buffalo Zoo, where he will get the chance to meet Luna, one other polar bear cub. Huffington Post quotes Randi Meyerson, coordinator of the Polar Bear Species Survival Plan, who said that, “At the Buffalo Zoo, both cubs would benefit from each other's company during this important period in their development.”

“Peer-raising animals is generally preferred over human-rearing whenever possible,” Randi Meyerson went on to argue.
