Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida is now home to a 6-week-old baby manatee named Jobin. The creature tips the scale at about 75 pounds (34 kilograms), and is as healthy as a horse.

However, when it first arrived at said facility, it weighed merely 55 pounds (25 kilograms). What's more, it was only a few days old and in a rather poor shape.

Keepers say Jobin was brought to the Lowry Park Zoo after it had been found swimming in Florida waters, Zoo Borns informs us.

Since its mother was nowhere in sight, its rescuers concluded that the baby manatee was an orphan, and that it would be best for it to be removed from the wild and brought to said animal sanctuary.

The baby manatee doesn't seem to mind living in captivity. Zoo employees are still feeding it bottled milk, and it will be some time until Jobin starts feasting on underwater vegetation.
