14 DAY TRIAL // Taylor Swift has had an amazing 2014 and she believes it was so also because she decided she was no longer in search of a boyfriend, that she was happier by focusing on herself and her girlfriends. If pal Ed Sheeran has his way, she might end up next with Orlando Bloom.
Considering that he was recently linked to Selena Gomez and that Selena is one of Taylor’s best friends, here’s to hoping that Ed has also thought of a way to prevent these two getting in a fight over a man.
Ed Sheeran, the matchmaker
Ed Sheeran is a good matchmaker and he’s honest about how much fun he’s having when he schemes and plans and gets two of his celebrity friends, of which he has plenty, to hook up. His biggest success so far is introducing “Friends” actress Courteney Cox to Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid: they are now engaged to be married.
He thought they would make a lovely couple and he proceeded to playing matchmaker for them. And it worked!
There’s no reason why the same can’t happen for Orlando and Taylor, especially since they have so much in common, like being both single and sharing common interests. And living in the same building.
“He's lovely, and they live in the same building,” Ed says for British magazine Now. “[I'm hoping that] the magic might present itself eventually.”
Taylor Swift, the maneater
The only problem with this plan could be that Taylor is really not in the market for a new boyfriend, not after she’s seen the kind of attention she can get whenever something goes bad in her love life.
For several years in a row, Taylor was nothing but a punchline for the tabloids, to the point where they built an entire narrative of her life that went something like this: she met boy (a famous one, of course), she fell in love, she instantly became needy and clingy, she would start making plans for their future together after only a couple of months, she’d get dumped (usually over the phone), she’d write an angry song about the boy.
Then, the same tabloids and the fans at home would have a blast trying to figure out which song was about which boyfriend, whether it was Jake Gyllenhaal, or Taylor Lautner, or Harry Styles or John Mayer.
For the first time in many years, no one seems to be care who Taylor Swift is dating, because she’s not dating anyone. So for the first time in a very long time, the focus is on her music – and we have a feeling she prefers it that way.
If Ed Sheeran can really talk her into dating Orlando Bloom, she would have to be very discreet about it for at least 3 months, which seems to be the maximum time she can be in a relationship. They should only go public once this threshold is passed. And by the way, they would make an incredibly good looking couple – Ed is right about that.
