Apple’s Special Deals area, where customers can get substantial discounts on refurbished products, is featuring an all-time low price of $429 / €349 for the 32GB iPad 1 with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. The savings amount to $200 / €160, Apple says.

Launched two and a half years ago, the first-generation iPad still sells officially through Apple, though only as a refurbished product.

Customers who order one can expect a near-perfect unit, though Apple warns that the device may exhibit signs of wear on the outside.

Equipped with a 9.7-inch widescreen display with 1024 x 768 resolution, 32GB and 64GB flash drive capacities, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology, and iOS, the original iPad can be yours for as low as $429. Apple calculates that the value of the product is still high, hence the $200 discount.

To our knowledge, this is the biggest discount ever made on the iPad through Apple’s Special Deals section.

iPad 2 tablets are also listed as great deals with a “Special Limited Time Price” such as this version with Wi-Fi+3G and 32GB of storage selling for $479 / €390. The savings here are $150 / €122.

The iPad 2 features the same non-Retina display as the original iPad, but it comes equipped with two cameras, HD video recording, a dual-core A5 chip with improved graphics, support for Smart Covers, and a much thinner (and sleeker) design. The iPad 2 also comes in white, whereas the original is only available in black.

The third-generation iPad with Retina display is yet to be sold as a refurbished product through Apple’s Special Deals section.
