Original Video for Britney Spears’ ‘Gimme More’ Leaks

Four years after her dark period, in more ways than one, a different version for Britney Spears’ first single off the “Blackout” album, “Gimme More,” has leaked online. You can see it below, right after the original version.

Fans need no reminding of the time when Britney Spears was having such serious personal issues that she was in and out of rehab a few times, lost custody of her kids and eventually had to be put under a conservatorship because she was endangering herself and everything she’d worked for.

Before that, Britney dyed her hair black and summoned all she had to shoot a video for a single she obviously had no intention of promoting: “Gimme More.”

While the track is considered, to this day, a good party-starter, the video received lots of negative reviews for the poor concept, the even worse choreography and, last but not least, the ill-fitting clothes.

The never-before-seen version will not make it better in any way.

Whereas the official clip has a wigged Britney watching the brunette version of herself work the pole on a stage surrounded by two blonde female dancers, the original version doesn’t include this footage.

Instead, it shows footage of Britney taking her dancing to the street – in what resembles a widow’s outfit – and then of Britney lying on a bed with a cat.

Additional scenes from inside the bar are included, specifically of the three women dancing together in more provocative ways – and of Britney sans her leather top.

It’s not hard to imagine why the studio decided to go for a different version of the video, since this one makes even less sense than the official one does, in that its concept is entirely lost on the viewer.

Even so, fans are happy that they finally get to see it. It may have taken it 4 years to emerge online, but it finally shows a side of Britney they will not ever see again, hopefully.
