The new Superman film, Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel,” made a killing at the box office but, to speak the truth, it really wasn’t received as warmly as expected. Even fans found many things to object to about it and, as the video below can confirm, so does Ilya Salkind.

Salkind’s name might not ring a bell unless you’re a true fan of the Superman franchise and know every detail about the original movies with Christopher Reeve as the beloved superhero.

He is the producer of those movies and, he tells TMZ, he didn’t really care for “Man of Steel.”

“It's okay,” he says, when asked by the paparazzi what he thought of the new film, which has Henry Cavill as lead.

Pressed to “tell the truth,” Salkind adds that “I think it's a little Batmanish,” referring to Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy, which ended last year with “The Dark Knight Rises.”

As it happens, Nolan is executive producer on “Man of Steel” but, as of now, no word on how he feels about Salkind’s remark.
