Electronic Arts has just confirmed that it's rolled out a new update for its Origin digital distribution service, bringing quite a few improvements to certain systems.

The update also adds the ability to track the player's achievements and display a general Origin score.

EA's Origin service hasn't gone through the best of times recently due to the rocky release of SimCity.

Even so, the company is confident in the service and has just rolled out a beta update for the Origin client, which refreshes parts of the interface, adds new a interface for gamers with powerful PCs, and the ability to track achievements in certain games.

The update, which takes the client to version 9.2.1, will roll out for all Origin users in the following weeks.

It includes a new look for the Application Settings menu in which users can set games to take advantage of 64-bit processors.

The service will also keep track of achievements for games like Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, or Dead Space 3, and displays the total score in an Origin Point total, according to the service's blog.
