In the ongoing fight for digital distribution supremacy between Steam and Origin one executive from Electronic Arts has said that Valve's success relies too heavily on third party titles, where his own company is able to use Origin to promote its own games.

Eric Brown, who is the Chief Financial Officer at Electronic Arts, has said, during a presentation at the BMO Digital Entertainment Conference that Valve has “”done a very nice job... it provides a pretty good customer experience.”

He added, “We already have high-quality third party publishers and we're going to have more third-party content like Steam over time.”

During November Origin will get access to titles from publishers like THQ, Warner Bros. and Capcom.

At the moment Origin has 6 million client installs, with a quick increase linked to the launch of Battlefield 3, the FPS from DICE and EA.

The service has some way to go before reaching the customer base of Steam, which is over 30 million at the moment.
