In response to Steam’s traditional summer sale, Electronic Arts has just kicked off its own series of discounts on the Origin digital distribution service, slashing prices on big games like Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, and much more.

Summer brings not just heat waves, in the Northern Hemisphere at least, but also big discounts on various digital distribution services on the PC platform.

We already saw GOG, OnLive, or Amazon debut their special discounts and, earlier, today Steam finally kicked off its own promotion.

Now, EA has released the Origin Loves Summer sale, which slashes prices on a variety of big games on the digital platform.

These titles include Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, FIFA 12, NFS: The Run, Crysis 2: Maximum Edition, and much more.

As of yet, the Origin Loves Summer Sale is available in Europe but might soon spread to other areas like North America.
