CEO of Hollywood Boxing Federation offers $1 million to see Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg in the boxing ring

With “The Fighter” reaping praises from critics and awards nominations, a boxing promoter sees in Mark Wahlberg’s take on a professional boxer the chance of a lifetime to make some money from charity – by getting into the ring with Will Smith.

Radar Online reports that Damon Feldman, CEO of Hollywood Boxing Federation, is willing to pay big bucks to see the two actors get into the ring for 3 one-minute rounds.

Both have played boxers in the past (Wahlberg more recently so), therefore both are in excellent physical condition, Feldman argues, therefore they should take him up on the offer.

Plus, it’s for a good cause and they, as celebrities, should lead by example.

“This will be a great opportunity for both stars to fight in the Superbowl of Hollywood boxing and to donate millions to their favorite charities. It would be a great event too. Can you imagine?” Feldman tells Radar, clearly enthusiastic about his idea.

“Both guys have trained with professional boxers. Will Smith played Muhammad Ali in Ali and was phenomenal. Wahlberg is currently playing Mickey Ward in The Fighter,” he further argues.

Not only do the two not risk much by getting into the ring (it’s not like they’re really going to be as fierce as professional boxers, Feldman believes), but they could also do something great for a good cause.

“Come on, I really think that this would be a huge event and great way for them to donate to their favorite charities. We don’t think these two are going to rip each other’s heads off,” the Federation CEO says.

“We’re just hoping they get into the ring and have a little fun duking it out,” Feldman adds. He hopes Wahlberg and Smith will follow the leads of other celebrities who have hopped into the ring.

As of now, reps for neither actor were immediately available for comment on the offer.
