The developer of Data Crow has made some major changes to the software

Data Crow, a media cataloger and organizer that can be used to manage all your collections in one product, is now at version 4.0.

Data Crow is an application that allows users to create a huge database containing all the possible collectibles and to take advantage of the online services to retrieve the information at will.

According to the changelog, a new client-server mode has been added, a full standalone application server is now available, the Audio CD module and the Music Album module have been merged, additional file support has been added to the movie file import function, the tabs saving mechanism has been improved, and Apache Tika has been upgraded to version 1.5.

Also, users can now place true type fonts (TTF files) in the fonts directory of the install folder, the PDF reports can now make use of Fonts installed, some additional settings can be modified by editing the "pdf_config.xml" file, more small issues that occurred when upgrading from an old version of Data Crow have been fixed, and numerous other bugs have been corrected.

Users are recommended to install the new version of Data Crow in a new folder. On Linux it would be advisable to install the application from scratch or to upgrade regularly from a repository.
