We've seen a lot of strange animals being kept as pets, from crocodiles to tigers and lions, but very few animal lovers agree to share their houses with an anteater.

However, an American woman has not one, but two anteaters for pets, and she treats them like her children. And as a bonus, Angela Goodwin will never be bothered by insects in her home in Oakridge, Oregon.

The two anteaters, Pua and Aurora, spend their days sleeping in Angela's washing machine, while at night they wander around the house searching for ants and other insects. The only thing that bothered their owner when she first brought them into her house was their lack of personal hygiene and the bad habit of clawing the furniture.

But in time, they learned to live together, and Angela says that sometimes she allows them to sleep in her bed. Moreover, the woman even dresses her little pets in jumpers to keep them warm.

“I started putting little sweaters on Pua and she didn't seem to mind so now she's got a whole wardrobe of clothes,” she said.

Well, the 39-year-old woman is definitely an anteater lover, but she warns potential owners about the difficulties of keeping such an animal as pet.

“They can be trained to pee on a mat, but their pee smells skunk-like and they can also release a terrible odor when scared,” she mentioned.
