An Oregon man wanted on two parole violations was involved in an eight-hour standoff with police and requested officers to treat him with Mountain Dew and marijuana during negotiations.

James Marco Bryan and his girlfriend Carrie Hurley were arrested on Saturday after an hours-long standoff with police. During the day, they refused to leave the house for fear they would be killed, but were eventually detained by Clatskanie Police Department after officers shot tear gas canisters into their home on the 100 block of Southwest Bryant Street.

According to KATU, Bryan was supposed to turn himself in on an arrest warrant, but he wanted really badly to turn himself in to a county officer, not to local police. That's why, when Clatskanie Police drove by the couple's house, they both started to panic and act madly.

“Why would the Clatskanie cops keep on cruising by?” Bryan reportedly said during the standoff. “Because they want to take me out. Because I am going to ... take this whole county down, that is why.”

The man, who was wanted on two parole or probation warrants for reckless driving and absconding, put up a real show during negotiations. He exposed himself, cursed a lot, and accused local police of corruption. Several spray-painted white supremacist signs could also be seen outside the residence.

Moreover, during the confrontation, the two suspects called major Oregon media outlets from inside the house, claiming they were scared for their safety.

Bryan and Hurley are currently into custody at Columbia County Jail in St. Helens, according to Clatskanie Police Chief Marvin Hoover, who also mentioned that Oregon State Police negotiators attempted to convince them to surrender, but they were uncooperative.

“He was kicking out windows, yelling and screaming, standing in the window making gestures with his [male intimate part] and showing his buttocks in the nude. At one point, he was wanting a pack of cigarettes, a Mountain Dew, some marijuana,” Hoover said, as reported by The Oregonian.

Luckily, the standoff ended peacefully, and no one was hurt during the incident.

Bryan was charged with resisting arrest, public indecent exposure, first-degree criminal mischief and failure to comply with arrest after refusing to come out of the house.

The criminal mischief charge is related to an incident that happened on Thursday night, when Bryan went to the Clatskanie Police Department and slashed the tires on three vehicles that were in the parking lot.

His girlfriend was also charged with hindering prosecution.
