It seems that Orange is preparing to launch a new and affordable mobile phone, dubbed Orange Vegas. The handset is supposedly featuring a 2.4-inch TFT display with touchscreen capabilities, which will probably be able to provide users with a QVGA resolution, as well as connectivity support for dual-band GSM/GPRS, yet no 3G or Wi-Fi have been included in the feature list.

According to the news on the Web, the new Orange Vegas touchscreen device is expected to come to the mobile phone carrier's offering as a Pay as You Go handset, while sporting a price tag of only €69 (92 USD), proving itself to be one of the cheapest full-touch phones available on the market.

Besides the touchscreen capabilities, the specification list of the new Orange Vegas also shows that the handset includes Bluetooth connectivity, multimedia features, such as an MP3 player, FM radio and a 1.30-megapixel photo snapper, as well as 64MB of internal memory, which is coupled with a memory card slot and a 1GB microSD card that comes with the package.

The battery of the new mobile phone is reported to be able to offer users up to 3 hours of talk time, as well as up to 7 days of standby time. The Orange Vegas measures 96.6mm x 45mm x 19mm and weighs 84 grams.

Orange UK has already listed the new Orange Vegas on its website, though the handset is not available for purchase at the moment. It is highly probable that the mobile phone operator will start offering the new handset on a wider range of European markets, in both the black and the pink color schemes, yet no official info on the matter has been unveiled so far, though we hope that more details will be made public in the near future.
