Mobile phone carrier Orange UK has just added a new smartphone to its 'coming soon' page, the very first Windows Phone Mango handset to make it there, namely the HTC Radar.

The new device was unveiled to the world at the beginning of September, along with the HTC TITAN, and it is one of the first Mango-based devices to become official this year.

Based on the new Windows Phone OS 7.5 (codenamed Mango), the handset was also spotted on the floor at IFA 2011 in Berlin, where Softpedia grabbed it for a series of hands-on photos.

The HTC Radar arrives on shelves with a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, with a 1GHz application processor inside, and with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

As its specs show, it will be released only as a mid-level device, which means that it should be accessible to a wider range of users, unlike the high-end TITAN with its large 4.7-inch screen.

“Get on the map with the HTC Radar. This stylish phone is crafted from premium materials and is literally brimming with features,” Orange notes.

The mobile phone was dressed completely in white, measures 120.5 x 10.9 x 61.5mm and weighs in at 137 grams. It packs a battery that can deliver up to 10 hours of talk time, or up to 20 days of standby time.

“The Windows Phone OS 7.5 combines well with the super fast 1GHz processor so app downloads and multitasking is a breeze. Communication is easy thanks to a 3.8-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen - switch between your social networking apps, emails and internet seamlessly,” Orange continues.

“The 5 megapixel camera with F2.2 lens, LED flash, and BSI sensor ensures images are high quality, even in low light. HD video recording with 5.1 surround sound will bring out the film director in you and the amazing HTC Sense rightfully completes the package.”

The mobile phone also comes with WiFi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, GPS receiver, FM radio RDS, HTML browsing (IE9 Mobile), great multimedia capabilities, and access to applications and games via the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Orange did not offer specific info on when the HTC Radar should become available for purchase, but those interested in learning more on the matter should head over to the carrier's website here.
